Does this picture say it or what? I seriously have felt as if this might happen at any second the past month or so! Our lives have been completely crazy! Here is a short update of what has been happening in our neck of the woods! (P-Town aka Provo)
I am currently being trained to become the new manager at work. This has been such an exciting, great, scary, overwhelming, fun, tiring, stressful experience. It is such a different feeling. Pretty much I will be responsible for everything that happens in the building...Good or Bad. Whoa.
With this new promotion I have experienced a lot of 1st's! I was responsible for finding a new employee which meant going through a ton of resumes, phone interviews, and in person interviews! I don't think I will ever approach an interview the same again. It is such a different experience to be on the other side of the table! I can't believe some of the things people said! Ha ha. Anywho, after finding the new employee I have been responsible for training her and completed her 30 Day Evaluation yesterday. It is so crazy! It is a lot of fun but can be stressful and overwhelming sometimes. My hours have become long and random. I have found myself geting home at 2 or 3 in the morning and being too wired to fall asleep! That is definitely a 1st! But it is such a perfect job for me and I honestly love my job.
Michael was called to be the second counselor in the BYU 191st ward. It is a Single's Ward just right down the street from us. For those of you that are hearing this for the first time, you may be thinking the same questions that I have heard over and over. Isn't that weird that he's called to be in the bishopric of a Single's Ward where the ward members are his age and older than you? Ha ha. Yes and no. It's weird but not for Provo. There are so many Single's Wards down here that they constantly pull from the Married Student Wards to fulfill the callings where you have to be married. It is a regular thing in our ward for people to be called to Single's Ward Bishoprics. For the rest of you, YES it is weird. The ward and Bishop are absolutely amazing tho. The average age is 22-26, mostly return missionaries (both boys and girls), BYU Students, 100% V.T. and H.T. We are really excited to be working with them and can't wait to get to know them better and be able to learn from them. Michael and I really feel like Heavenly Father has something that we need to learn from this calling! The Stake President counseled us to do what we need to do to have the spirit in our life on a daily basis! I have found that this is not the easiest task. But we are trying our best and trying to be better people.
Additionally Michael has been getting ready for finals as well as trying to find an Internship. He has worked so hard and found some really great opportunities. The company he really wants to work for is Bard. They interviewed him and said they will have a position available during the summer when someone else quits. So hopefully that works out! It has been a long crazy year full of roller coasters but we are still alive and still trucking.
Anyways, that is just a little bit about what is going on in our life!
